Home sweet home -

Another day spent with Sugar and Bobo :)

Introducing Sugar to Max..they don't really seem to like playing with one another.

Sugar taking a bath (which she hates) =P

Remember the little birdie from last time? It's grown so big now!

Jane and I when I went over to KK for the long weekend :)

On the way to the islands :)

Resting on the beach after our snorkeling session.

It's my last day at work tomorrow. :) But that only means a few more days til I leave Brunei. :( I guess I am sad at the thought of leaving, because I don't know when I will be back in Brunei next. It could be after 2 years or so - which I think is a long, long time. Oh well. I shall enjoy the next few days at home, especially enjoying the nice hot weather before returning to cold Dunners-land.
This year is a year where I have to make lots of decisions - especially the one on where to work after I graduate! I can only pray and seek God for what He wants me to do and where He wants me to go. Looking back, I am so amazed at how He has provided for me. Like how I didn't get my scholarship as I planned because He wanted to defer me for a year. I like it how He has full of surprises for me. Like how mom told me the other day that if I didn't get deferred a year and had gone into medicine straight away, I wouldn't have spent my first elective with Sarah and Sam in London because she wouldn't have been there yet! And I wouldn't have met some of the people who are now very good friends of mine. So now, I can only leave it to Him to open the right doors for me. I can't believe I'm going to be a working woman soon! =P
Ultimately, my heart's desire is to return to Brunei to work. How that plan evolves, I don't know. I've still got a few years to think about that. I'm just quite excited of what God's going to surprise me with as I go through this new chapter in my life :)

Sugar meets friend -
(Apologies for the photo quality...I was too lazy to edit them =P )

The newbie to the family :)

Sugar a little apprehensive of the white furry creature...

Taking a closer look...

'What is this?'...

sniff sniff

Not too happy about her new friend =P

Well, maybe she can get used to it...

A little birdie we found in one of our plants. Little birdie's not clear cos it was shaking so much when we touched the nest. It thought we were mommy coming with food. Mommy was coming, no doubt, so we didn't take any more photos in case we get attacked by an angry bird. And I don't like birds.
Mom thinks our house is becoming a zoo with all these animals =P
Less than two weeks now til I leave =O( Anyway. I had my wisdom teeth removed under GA last Wednesday, and it went well. I was left feeling quite groggy and had a swollen left cheek that started 2 days post-op. Now the swelling is down and the pain is gone, but I fell sick with the flu. Last I checked, I fell sick at least every month now since I arrived back in Brunei in November. Not cool. I am not known to fall sick easily. Now I have a snotty nose and cough. bleh. But I'm praying. Praying that I will get better soon - one, because I want to make full use of the remaining of my attachment in the hospital and two, I want to enjoy my holiday in KK this weekend :)
So now, I shall rest, because I know I have lots to do at work tomorrow. 6 more working days, and I'm counting down =P
By Your stripes, I am healed

Sugar -

:)
Week 2 of my attachment in KB hospital. Which means less than 3 weeks before returning to NZ! As always I have mixed feelings about leaving Brunei. Brunei will always be my home.
What has God taught me this summer holiday? There's a lot I need to reflect on. God has really brought lots of blessings my way, and you know how they say to count your blessings? I don't think it's possible for me to do that! It's countless. The people that God has put alongside me in our journey here on earth has taught me a lot about myself - some good and some not so good. The not so good ones are part of my character that's currently work-in-progress. I was meditating on Mark 8:34 the other day where Jesus said to deny ourselves, take up the cross and follow him. It is definitely something that I'll always work on in my life. It is not easy to deny myself daily. Most times I get carried away with selfishness that I forget that it is God that I'm living for and not me.
Many are the desires of my heart, but I know that in God's time they shall all come to pass; as I seek Him wholeheartedly. I will not give up.

2 Chronicles 7:14
"...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
With all this rain (and floods) happening in Brunei (well, most of Borneo island from what I hear), I've been reminded of this verse. Sometimes you can't just blame it on the Northeast monsoon.
