To YOU! :) -

Happy birthday!!! =O)

Yes. It's that time of the year again. :) Hope you're having a fantabulous time! :) :)

I'll keep this short and sweet...hehe. Partly because my brain's not really functioning that well in the state that I'm in right now :P It's been a long day so far.

Love you loads! xoxoxo

(I wish I could be there with you to celebrate this special day! Like how you were there for mine...heeeee...)

Tribute to Bao Bao -

(Have to get the name right this time :P..I'll still call him Bobo :) )

Life is short. I don't exactly know what happened to Bobo, but sadly he did not make it from whatever he was suffering. Here's to Bobo, an adorable bunny that made our playtimes fun. Especially for Sugar, having met a new friend to play with! :) It was fun to have you around, eventhough it was such a short time. Gonna miss you lil' one.

---------------------        --------------------------         ------------------------

So I finished up on psych today! yay! :) Paeds, here I come! double yay! :) :)

All went well, despite the little hiccup at the start. I passed the whole attachment. Did ok in my write up and presentation. Praise God. Time for a little rest before starting on the paediatric ward. I'll be starting on NICU next week. Yay! Babies!! I have to make sure I get better before then so I am allowed into the ward. Fragile wee ones involved, I must say. I'm all excited nonetheless :)

I was reminded by Ps Brian Houston's msg titled 'This is your day' to be thankful for my days. I know it's so easy to start complaining, especially being on this side of the world, where we get more grey than blue skies. It's easy for words to slip out of my mouth, complaining about another cold, grey day; or complaining that it's Monday and 'suffering from Monday blues' (if such a thing exists)..and the list goes on.  I have made it a point to be positive about my days. No matter what day of the week it is, or whether it's bright and sunny or grey and gloomy on the outside, or the humongous workloads I'm carrying - God deserves none other than my praise of Him. I think there's nothing worse than starting the day with such negative thoughts!

I was ill with the fever chills about two nights ago and I'm guessing now that I'm down with a viral cold (medical student diagnosis) :P Sniffly nose and all. I've been trying to rest lots so that I'll be able to recover quickly. Needless to say sleep was the only thing on my mind for the past few days, and it was hard to get out of bed. But today. This morning, I woke up feeling very excited for what God has in store for me! For what He has to tell me through His Word! :) I met this girl at lifegroup last night, and we were talking about reading the Bible and reflecting on His Word, when she just got so excited and starting going on about how she LOVED reading the Bible and how God's word energises her - the refreshing Word of God. I must say, that was contagious! haha. :) Everyone's excited about the 4 week series that we're doing in church at the moment. Those have been such powerful messages we've been receiving the past 3 weeks. Life-changing stuffs!

And I'm now one month closer to graduation.

Exciting times :)

negativity -

Oh, I miss her craziness - even if it drives me crazy too!

The joy of the Lord is my strength!
I am claiming that verse in my life at the moment. There is a reason why I will never choose psych as a career option (no offense to the psychiatrists!). Lets just say I am easily affected by the patients that I see in this part of medicine, and it leaves a mark. If there's something I need right now, it's a lot of joy. Truckloads of it.  And to be able to pass the joy on to others. Changing their negativity to positivity. Making sure their negativity does not win over my positivity.

Sometimes I just don't understand. But I will not give up.

One life at a time.

One of my fav takes

to Sarah and Sam -

I love Skype. I just don't like the 13 hrs time difference. :P (oh and it wasn't until I took this photo that we look quite alike. I've never thought of us to look alike before! :)  And to think that Sharon thinks that we talk and sound alike too..hmm. I beg to differ on that one :P ) *mew* hehe...

As most of you would know, Sarah and Sam are in London, hence the humongous time difference between us, as I'm in this part of the world. Most times when we chat, it'll be me getting ready for bed and they're just getting ready for uni and vice versa. I miss the times when I was in London and the three of us will be in Sam's room, just being our crazy selves. I love being with my siblings! We are like the bestest friends in the world! haha. I'm so glad now that mom decided to have us all very close in our ages - that we could relate to each other very well (or at least we try to :P). And our crazy moments in Paris too! Watching French tv and having no clue at all as to what was going on! But we still munch on our tit-bits in bed watching late night tv. Only understanding the word 'elimine' from the Simpsons. haha! And having our wonderful yellow coloured Magic man as we went on the tour bus round Paris, telling us what the city of Paris is about.

I love it when the three of us are together. There are never boring times. :)

I look forward to the time when the three of us can be together again physically. My graduation day perhaps :) It'll be my turn to treat this time :P

Love you two much! :)

My family - I love.

bye home...hello 'home' -

With mommy and daddy <3
And Sugar <3
Saying goodbyes at the airport :'(

I don't like saying goodbyes - especially when I have to leave Brunei. Lets just say Brunei has a special place in my heart. :) It's always a weird transition when I come back to NZ. It takes me a while to register that I'm not in Brunei anymore. That first few hours of landing in Dunedin..I'll be in denial that I'm here and wish I could teleport myself home, or wish that I could wake up and realise it's all a dream. Hmm. Yea. I still get homesick even if this is my 7th year away from home. (7 years! I can't believe it's been that long already!)

Starting back in the hospital on psych has been pretty interesting - not that I have seen many patients as yet, but I've heard lots of patients' stories. It's the one run/attachment where I question God a lot about why these kind of things happen. How it happens. And a further lot of whys? It's also interesting how He has placed it in some people's hearts to have the passion to treat these patients - because I know I can't. I pray that the next 3.5 weeks in this department will go alright.

Anyhoo. I had been blessed to be upgraded to business class on my way back to NZ. :) God is good. Whist I was sleeping in my reclinable seat, I woke up at what would be 3am Brunei time. A little annoyed at why I can't seem to get myself back to sleep, I decided to open my eyes and look out the window - and be awed by God's creation. Sunrise. I love the sunrise! I think I prefer it more than sunset :) But then again, I love nature! (bar the insects >.<)

I'm stoked to be serving an awesome God!

Take 1
Take 2
