Hallo October! -

7 weeks til I am done with my TI year.
6 weeks til Sarah comes! :D

Spring is here! But when I was walking to church this morning, there was snow on the hills. Hmm.

Today a couple of people shared in church about the disasters in Philippines, Samoa and Indonesia. It hit home for me, and honestly I am still shaken. I can't quite explain the feeling. Ok. Maybe part of how I'm feeling now is due to the fact that I didn't think I did my best today in playing the keys - it was a struggle (despite having a friend tell me later after the service that she liked what I was doing with the keyboard! Go figure. I think I critique myself a bit too harsh sometimes!). But I did struggle, and didn't like the feeling. :( Well, back to the natural disasters that seemed to have happen one after the other. They showed us this dvd clip on the flooding in the Philippines, and I can't help but think back to the start of this year, when I was in Brunei and how it was flooding in Brunei! It didn't so much affect where I lived, but for some, it wasn't a pleasant experience. People fell sick. Lost stuffs. Houses had to be cleaned. Things restarted. Lives lost. And now I see this happening in these countries. And it's like on a bigger scale. My heart goes out for them. If I could, I would jump on the next plane out to assist in whatever medical treatment available and help where I can. But it's not the time yet for me to step out.

I take comfort in knowing that despite all the hardship, God is there. He was there when the tsunami hit various villages in Samoa; He was there when buildings crashed to the ground in Indonesia, taking the lives of many loved ones; He was there when a daughter got taken away by the waves from her mother and they never saw each other again; He was there when the people in the Philippines struggled to get to higher ground to save themselves from the 6ft high flood. And He is still there with them, comforting them as they mourn the loss of their loved ones, their homes. I guess I will never be able to comprehend the extend of the disaster but I can empathize with them. It's not easy and I do not wish for myself to read the news and then flick on to the next news and get on with life as if it never happened.

Maybe this niggling feeling is there to remind me of the many out there who needs our prayers and support. Although I kinda wished it wasn't too annoying to the point that I'm not really concentrating on a 3000 word essay that I need to complete as soon as possible!
